This is a reminder for families who signed up for the First Annual Winter Break Meal Pick-Up. Pickup is today, December 23rd, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Buckingham County Middle School. When you arrive, please let them know your name to confirm your meal pick-up. After 4 PM, any remaining student meals will be given to those in line until we run out of food. Reminder, 1 meal bag per child. Thank you!

The Buckingham County School Board has a vacancy, effective January 1, 2025, created by the resignation of the District 1 School Board member. Qualified voters of District 1 in Buckingham County who may be interested in seeking an appointment for the position are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must submit a Statement of Interest not to exceed 300 words, 25 signatures from registered voters in District 1, and a resume to the Clerk, Buckingham County School Board at 15595 West James Anderson Highway Buckingham, Virginia 23921 no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
The School Board anticipates announcing the names of all persons being proposed for the interim appointment and making available for inspection each person's resume and any other materials required by the Board on January 15, 2025. The Board anticipates interviewing applicants in a closed meeting on February 5, 2025. The Board will make the appointment at its meeting on February 12, 2025.


The Buckingham County School Board will be taking the next step in the process of hiring a new superintendent by seeking public input on qualifications.
The school board has created a survey related to superintendent criteria, which is available on the home page of the division website. Hard copies of the survey will also be available at the school board administration office, at each school, and at the public library.
In addition to the survey, the board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the Buckingham Middle School Cafeteria.
